My contest entry for Bring Your Vision to Life.
The Path I Walk I dearest beloved Forgive me for what I must do The path I take to see you and the children again Is likely filled with damnation Know I love you with all my being With all my existence that is known throughout the world Forgive me my beloved My path to you and them Is a path of damnation But I pray I pray That I may soon take a road of redemption Once the deeds and the old paths are done with The symbol of our union guides me It reminds me of who I once was Who I am to you and our children Though sadly for now I must close my hand and forsake myself In seeing that precious stone Of beautiful moonlight Which reminds me of you Wait for me My beloved My path of damnation begins now Though soon I will find you and our children To which I will walk the path of atonement Story Behind the Poem and The Knight: This is one of my oldest original characters, based off of many inspirations from many sources of lore and fiction that inspired me to the path of an artist. Myros Hawkdragon walks a path to damnation... knowing full well that his next actions are evil and filled with selfish desires, but he still believes in the greater good of it all. His wife and daughters await him in the place beyond life and time... the castle of his enemies is just ahead... and the roads of burdening crimes and ridding them off his shoulders are no where to be seen. He speaks one final poem before he marches off from the beginning of his path, knowing that he only speaks to silent forms... knowing full well they would cringe at the new sight of him. Go without fear Myros... but remember who you were once before the turning... before the greatest of a hero's fears... Remember them and move onward. To the road of Damnation. |
